I did this [I call it the Big Mess] some time ago. I decided to switch to pen because paper was killing me.

There are animals hidden in the mess. Lucy likes the bunny, but my favourite is the monkey (:
I also did another piece. It was sort of inspired by a song, Counting Blue Cars by Dishwalla. (: Blue car syndrome is when you see something and then suddenly notice it all around. [Buy a blue car and you see blue cars everywhere] Although I’m not sure if the song is referring to blue car syndrome.
Anyway, with the help of advanced technology [think photoshop], I was able to see if other colour schemes would have been better:

I thought it was a really big mess until I saw the animals hidden here and there. Those are so cute! I can’t really see them clearly, but are you going with the idea of “十二生肖”？
Also, are you trying to even out the colors in “the big mess”? I mean like trying to make sure no part of the whole “mess” stands out more? Because it seems to me that it can be more interesting if there are variations in the lines, like maybe some parts have thicker lines than others, and maybe a little more contrast in the black and white spaces.
But I must admit that these sort of “evened-out” lines look REALLY good with colours on :-)
